The Idea

The best fund managers
for your assets.

There are experienced fund managers worldwide who invest according to investment principles similar to ours. With Best of Funds, we leverage their expertise. We analyze their investment strategies, verify their long-term results, and select those funds that meet our quality standards.

The result is a broadly diversified portfolio of actively managed investment funds that predominantly invest according to value and quality principles. It is supplemented by bond funds and selected individual stocks. By combining different fund managers, regions, sectors, and investment styles, we distribute assets across numerous companies and reduce dependence on individual investment decisions.

While we select individual companies ourselves in Modern Value, we rely on the expertise of specialized fund managers in Best of Funds. Our task consists of selecting the right managers and continuously reviewing their work.

A further advantage: whenever possible, we invest in institutional share classes, which are often not directly accessible to private investors. These generally offer significantly more favorable conditions than the corresponding share classes for private investors.

Selection

Four questions before a fund can enter the portfolio.

01

Who decides?

We examine the experience of the responsible fund managers, their past performance, and the continuity of the management team. It is particularly important to us how those responsible acted during difficult market phases and whether they are invested in the funds themselves.

02

According to what principles?

We prefer fund managers who think long-term, pay attention to the quality of their investments, and place great value on an appropriate valuation. Their investment philosophy must be compatible with our own investment principles.

03

What does it really cost?

In addition to the quality of the fund management, we take all ongoing costs into account. In doing so, we pay particular attention to low-cost institutional share classes in order to keep the fee burden for our clients as low as possible.

04

How did it perform when things were bad?

Good performance in rising markets alone does not convince us. We analyze how a fund has performed during past crises, how significant the losses were, and how long the subsequent recovery took.

We regularly review whether the selected funds continue to meet our quality standards. In this process, we consider the investment philosophy, costs, and the composition of the management team in addition to performance. If essential prerequisites change, we examine a possible replacement. We are happy to explain the reasons for the selection of each individual fund to you at any time.

Variations

The number is your equity allocation.

Best of Funds 60 means: a maximum of 60 percent equities, the rest is in bond funds. All five variations follow the same principles – they differ only in the equity allocation and thus in how much fluctuation you are willing to bear.

Best of Funds 20

For assets that should primarily remain stable.

Best of Funds 40

Bonds provide support, equities supplement.

Best of Funds 60

Balanced, diversified across all regions.

Best of Funds 80

Growth in focus, with a buffer remaining.

Best of Funds 100

Fully in equity funds, for long periods.

We will clarify which variation suits you best in a consultation – or you can open your account directly online – a short questionnaire will suggest a suitable variation for you.

Diversification is not a renunciation of conviction. It is the decision to give room to several good judgments instead of just one.

Year-end values of Estably model portfolios Best of Funds 20 to 100, starting from €100,000 in January 2016, as of September 30, 2026. Values before 2020 are based on back-calculations; values from 2020 onwards are based on the development of the model portfolios. "ø p.a." is the annualized return over the entire period, not the average of the annual values. 2026 includes January to September. Figures before costs and taxes. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

Costs

from €250,000 1,09 %

In addition

0.30% custody fees. This covers account and custody account management, transaction costs, cross-border fees, and the annual tax report for private clients.

Performance-based

10% on profits, but only when your portfolio reaches a new high. According to the high-water mark principle, it only applies again when this high is surpassed – not just when the portfolio has recovered from a decline.

Risks

What you should know.

Broad diversification dampens fluctuations, but it does not eliminate them. The portfolio can be below what you invested for months or years.

Limited influence on individual positions. The selection of securities within a fund lies with the respective fund management. We select the funds carefully and review their investment strategies, but we have no direct influence on individual investment decisions.

Risks of fund management. Changes in the management team, deviations from the previous investment philosophy, or an increasing fund size can impair performance. We review these factors regularly and adjust our fund selection if necessary.

Currency and tax risks. International investments may be subject to exchange rate fluctuations, which have a positive or negative effect on performance. The tax treatment of income is based on your country of residence and your personal circumstances.

FAQs

About Best of Funds

How much influence do I have over my portfolio?

You decide which variation suits your investment goals and risk tolerance. The selection of individual funds is performed by us within the framework of the discretionary mandate. If you wish to take individual specifications for your portfolio into account, this is possible within the scope of Estably Premium .

How do you proceed in turbulent markets?

Even in difficult market phases, we adhere to our long-term investment principles. We continuously verify whether the selected fund managers consistently pursue their investment strategies and meet our quality standards. With the Asset Protect Strategy , your portfolio can additionally be supplemented by precious metals. However, price losses cannot be completely excluded.

Can I transfer an existing custody account?

A transfer of existing securities is generally possible. Since your assets are invested according to our investment strategy, existing positions may have to be sold if necessary. In many cases, it is therefore simpler to transfer the desired investment amount directly to your new account.

When will my money be invested?

As soon as your capital has been received in the account at your custodian bank, it is invested within the framework of our weekly investment cycle. Fees are only incurred once your assets have been invested.

How will I be informed about my portfolio?

Via your dashboard, you can view daily information on your portfolio and track the performance of your investments. Additionally, you will receive a full cost breakdown and the necessary tax documents once a year.

Which approach
suits you?

We would be happy to discuss this with you personally. Or you can open your portfolio directly online – a short questionnaire will suggest a suitable variant for you.
